Text of Regulation

Rationale

Legislation passed by the 2014 General Assembly allows hunting on Sundays in Virginia effective July 1, 2014, under provisions specified in Code of Virginia §29.1- 521. The regulation amendment will change the fall turkey season dates to include Sunday within the current season framework structure, i.e. the early segment will begin on a Saturday and close on a Friday and the January segment will open on a Saturday and close on a Saturday. The amendment will pick up two Sundays within the early segment, three Sundays in the December segment, and two Sundays in the January segment. In total, seven Sundays will be offered for new fall turkey hunting opportunity in most counties of the state.
