Landowner searches may include items such as years of experience hunting, hunter’s willingness to take does, and hunters who have committed to a code of conduct. The H-Finder application keeps landowner information confidential and sends an e-mail to the hunter that meets landowner specifications with only the landowner’s e-mail address.

What are my rights as a landowner?
The Hunter Finder program is a voluntary program. The landowner has the option to select a hunter that meets the specific criteria that he/she decides. As a landowner, you have complete control over who you allow on your property and the rules/guidelines for any hunter that you allow on your property.

What is my Liability as a landowner if I allow Hunters on my land?
Virginia law protects landowners who do not charge a fee for hunting or other recreational uses on their property from liability from injury to a hunter caused by any condition, structure, or personal property on the land. However, this law does not pertain to the landowner’s grossly negligent failure to warn against conditions the landowner should know to be dangerous.

You can search for a hunter that meets your specific criteria. You will be given a list of hunters that meet your search criteria and you will have the option of sending them an e-mail to contact you.
